Fairchild’s Green-Mode Fps Switches Ideal For Consumer Power Supplies

Fairchild Semiconductor has combined elements of its pulse-width modulation and SenseFET technology to offer a new family of switches in its FPS (Fairchild Power-Switch) line.  The FSL1x6 devices are intended for switch-mode power supplies in any home appliances or consumer devices that need to meet Energy Star requirements for green products.

The high-voltage power switching regulators in the family combine an internal 650V SenseFET with a current-mode PWM control block.  Typical standby power in the FSL1x6 family is less than 50 mW at 265 VAC with no load.  The switches offer enhanced ESD immunity, undervoltage lockout protection, abnormal overcurrent protection, and an internal thermal shutdown function with hysteresis.

All products are packaged in 8-lead DIP.  Family members include FSL106HR, FSL106MR, FSL116HR, FSL116LR, FSL126HR, FSL126MR, FSL136HR, and FSL136MR.  Prices in quantities of 1000 range from $0.55 to $0.85 each, with delivery in 8 to 10 weeks ARO.
